Mubadala Partners With Abu Dhabi Tour

Mubadala Development Company today announced its partnership with the Abu Dhabi Tour, the annual cycling extravaganza scheduled to take place from October 20th - 23rd.

The partnership, which aims to encourage members of the UAE community to develop an interest in cycling and adopt an active lifestyle, includes cooperation on two community cycling competitions in each of Al Ain and Abu Dhabi taking place in the lead-up to and after the Abu Dhabi Tour.

Mubadala’s partnership with the Abu Dhabi Tour will also include an educational initiative focusing on familiarising students with the history of the bicycle, benefits of cycling and safety on the road. At the end of each one hour bike-related class, students will be invited to paint a cycling helmet, with best being awarded with a children’s bicycle. Participating students and their families will be invited to attend the Abu Dhabi Tour final stage race and closing event on October 23rd at Yas Marina Circuit.

Aref Al Awani, ADSC’s General Secretary, said, "Our partnership with Mubadala comes at the perfect time as all eyes are focused on Abu Dhabi and Abu Dhabi Tour. We are keen to have active partnerships with government entities and departments in order to develop community sports in Abu Dhabi."

He added, "The participation of Mubadala in two community cycling events is another opportunity to enhance Mubadala’s community outreach programme, and I am confident this partnership will grow to higher levels in order to achieve and realise the objectives of the MoU between Mubadala and ADSC. We look forward to strengthening our partnership with Mubadala even further in the future."
